The Owandy-CR2 is a compact dental plate scanner designed to support a wide range of everyday imaging needs in the practice. Owandy describes it as the smallest plate scanner for dental practices, with applications in endodontics, prosthetic and implant surgery, periodontics, and caries diagnostics.

It supports five plate sizes, including formats for child, incisor, adult, bitewing, and occlusal imaging, allowing the system to adapt to different clinical situations and patient needs.

The scanner is built for simple day-to-day use with automatic plate detection, plate size detection, insertion direction detection, automated viewing and delete functions, and automatic standby mode. Owandy also notes that the plates use a protective cardboard sheath and a single-use hygienic cover to support hygiene in clinical use.
